While most of our clients live in their own homes, many reside in different types of senior living communities including: independent living, assisted living, or continuing care facilities. The level of care offered at these communities can vary widely, and sometimes a client may need more assistance than the community staff is able to provide.
We can help someone residing in a senior living community in the following ways:
-
Helping a new resident become better acclimated with the new living environment.
-
Providing private transportation to the grocery store, pharmacy, beauty salon or doctor's appointment.
-
Intermittent bathing assistance.
-
Assisting with non-medical care needs beyond the scope of what the community staff is able to do.
-
One-on-one supervision and assistance for memory impaired clients.
Often times, senior living communities have strict rules regarding the hiring of care providers. Rest assured that our Home Care Aides meet all their requirements including: LiveScan background checks, TB clearance, and CPR and First Aid certifications. Furthermore, we have standing agreements with many senior communities in Orange County that allow our Home Care Aides to work on their premises. No matter where you or your loved one resides, Colonial Home Care will work with your community Administrator to ensure compliance with their policies.
If you are considering placement in a senior living community, we can provide information and recommendations relevant to your needs. We have personally visited each and every senior living community in Orange County, and receive no compensation for any referrals we make.
