Home Care Service Award
|
In 2009, our employee, Prema Ranasinghe, was honored with this award recognizing her as one of the top caregivers in California. Sponsored by the California Association for Health Services At Home (CAHSAH), the Home Care Service Award recognizes an individual directly involved in day-to-day care who has consistently provided outstanding service to clients in their homes. |

Caring Touch Award
|
In 2004, our employee, Betty Giliszer, received the Caring Touch Award, sponsored by the Friends of Alzheimer's Caregivers. This award recognizes nursing assistants for their outstanding skills and compassionate care to those afflicted with Alzheimer's or dementia. Over 1000 Southern California health care facilities annually have an opportunity to nominate an exceptional employee, and we are honored that one of our own was the recipient of this prestigious award. |

CAHSAH Grassroots Advocacy Award
|
Colonial Home Care’s President, Trevor O'Neil, was the proud recipient of this award for both 2010 and 2011. The Grassroots Advocacy Award recognizes an individual who has made outstanding leadership contributions by advocating on behalf of the home care industry. Trevor maintains ongoing leadership roles at the local, state and national levels, and tirelessly advocates on behalf of home care employers, employees and clients. |

ABHC
|
The American Board of Home Care has certified that all of Colonial's Home Care Aides are employees, not independent contractors. The use of independent contractor caregivers can pose significant risk to clients and families, as detailed here. |

CAHSAH certified
|
Colonial Home Care is a Certified Home Care Aide Organization. Among other things, this certification ensures we carry all appropriate insurance, and that our employees have undergone a criminal background check and TB screening. In the absence of regulation for home care in California, this certification ensures that we have met a set of minimum standards and best practices as identified by California's oldest and largest home care association. |
